What is Docker hosting?

Docker hosting is container hosting built for Docker images and Dockerfiles. On Caasify, you can deploy a prebuilt Docker image or build from a Git repository, then get automatic TLS, scaling, logging, and private networking without managing servers yourself.

How is container hosting different from a VPS?

A VPS gives you a full virtual machine with root access and a dedicated OS. Container hosting runs your application as an isolated container — you only manage your app code, not the underlying server. Containers start faster, scale automatically, and bill based on actual resource usage rather than a fixed monthly rate.

How does billing work?

You are billed per second for the resources your container actually consumes — not what you allocate. CPU costs €0.000010 per millicore per hour, RAM costs €0.000004 per MB per hour, storage costs €0.000100 per GB per hour, and outbound traffic costs €0.01 per GB. There are no fixed plans, no minimum commitments, and no monthly subscriptions.

What does 'usage-only billing' mean?

Usage-only billing means you pay for the CPU and RAM your container actually uses, not the amount you allocate. If you allocate 4 GB of RAM but your app only uses 1.5 GB, you are billed for 1.5 GB. When your container scales to zero, CPU and RAM billing stops entirely.

What is scale-to-zero?

Scale-to-zero means your container shuts down automatically when it receives no traffic. While at zero, you are not billed for CPU or RAM. When a new request arrives, your container starts back up automatically. This is ideal for dev/staging environments, webhooks, and low-traffic APIs.

Which container registries are supported?

Caasify supports Docker Hub, GitHub Container Registry (GHCR), GitLab Container Registry, and any private registry that uses standard Docker authentication. You can also build directly from a Dockerfile in a connected Git repository.

Can I deploy a prebuilt Docker image or build from a Dockerfile?

Yes. You can deploy images from Docker Hub, GHCR, GitLab Container Registry, or a private registry. You can also connect a Git repository and build directly from a Dockerfile before deployment.

Can I use Docker hosting to run a website, API, or worker?

Yes. Caasify can run public web apps, internal APIs, background workers, cron-style jobs, and stateful services packaged as Docker containers. You get automatic TLS, private networking, scaling controls, logs, and health checks from the same platform.

Do you support persistent volumes?

Yes. You can attach NVMe SSD persistent volumes to any container. Data on these volumes survives container restarts, redeployments, and scaling events. Automatic backups are included at no extra cost.

Do I need Kubernetes to run production containers on Caasify?

No. Caasify is managed container hosting. You deploy a Docker image or Dockerfile, choose CPU, RAM, storage, and scaling settings, and manage your application instead of cluster infrastructure.

How do custom domains work?

Every container receives an auto-generated domain (yourapp.caasify.app) with TLS immediately on deployment. You can add one or more custom domains at any time — we handle DNS verification and TLS certificate provisioning automatically.

How does auto-scaling work?

Caasify monitors your container's CPU and memory usage in real time. When demand increases, additional replicas are created automatically. When demand drops, replicas are removed — down to zero if scale-to-zero is enabled. You can set minimum and maximum replica counts to control scaling behavior.

Is there a backup service?

Yes. Automatic backups are included for all persistent volumes. Backups run on a regular schedule and you can trigger manual backups or restore to a previous point in time from the dashboard.

How do I migrate from Railway, Render, or Heroku?

If your app already runs in a Docker container, migration is straightforward. Push your existing image to the Caasify registry, configure your resource settings, and deploy. Environment variables, volumes, and custom domains can be configured from the dashboard or CLI. Most migrations take less than 15 minutes.

What regions are available?

Caasify offers container hosting in 20+ regions across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. You select your region at deployment time. Multi-region deployments are supported for latency-sensitive workloads.

Is traffic between containers billed?

No. Traffic over the private network between your containers is free and unlimited. Only outbound traffic to the public internet is billed at €0.01 per GB.

What monitoring and logging is included?

Every container includes real-time CPU, RAM, and network metrics plus centralized log streaming — accessible from the dashboard and API. No external monitoring tools are required and there is no additional charge.
