Traffic Monitoring

Introduction

We have implemented a robust system for monitoring the bandwidth usage of virtual private servers (VPS) to ensure smart resource management and a transparent user experience. This system tracks your usage on a per-minute basis, enabling precise management, fair usage, and compensable consumption throughout the month.

How the Bandwidth Monitoring System Works

Each virtual server comes with a defined monthly traffic limit. For example, if you purchase a server with 5 TB of monthly bandwidth, this is considered an average of approximately 166 GB per day (5000 GB / 30 days).

Caasify’s intelligent monitoring system records your bandwidth usage every minute and reviews it on a daily basis. Your daily usage is compared to the average daily allowance, and any excess is temporarily flagged. However, if your usage decreases later in the month and the total remains within the monthly limit, no additional charges will be applied for the earlier excess.

This structure helps you maintain balanced usage throughout the month without the worry of service interruption or unfair billing.

Practical Examples for Better Understanding

Scenario 1: Exceeding the Daily Allowance at the Beginning of the Month

Suppose you have a VPS with 5 TB of monthly bandwidth. Your allowed daily quota is 166 GB.

If, during the first 4 days, you use 7 TB (7000 GB) of traffic, while your allowed usage for that period was only 664 GB (4 × 166), the excess amount of 6336 GB will be temporarily recorded.

In this case:

  • If your usage decreases over the remaining days of the month and your total monthly consumption stays within the 5 TB limit, the system will automatically consider the excess as compensated, and no additional charges will be deducted from your account.

  • However, if your total monthly usage exceeds 5 TB, the excess bandwidth will be charged based on the applicable rate and deducted from your account balance.

Scenario 2: Compensating Excess Usage Later in the Month

You have purchased a server with 1 TB of monthly traffic. On the first day, you consume 900 GB, which exceeds your daily allowance.

However, if over the remaining 29 days you only consume another 100 GB, your total monthly usage remains at 1 TB, and no additional charges will be applied.

What Happens When Bandwidth is Exhausted?

If the allocated bandwidth for your server is fully consumed and usage continues, the cost of excess traffic will be automatically and transparently deducted from your account balance on a per-GB basis. This process occurs seamlessly, without any disruption to your service, ensuring uninterrupted access.

Summary

Caasify’s bandwidth monitoring system is designed with high accuracy, flexibility, and transparency to enable you to:

  • Monitor your usage daily and in real time

  • Utilize resources efficiently and fairly

  • Offset temporary overuse later in the month

  • Continue using the service without interruption even after exceeding your traffic limit

Questions

  • Does consuming less on some days benefit me?
Yes. If you use less than your daily allowance on certain days, you can use the leftover bandwidth on other days. The system smartly accounts for this balance.

  • Will excess bandwidth cause service interruption?
No. At Caasify, even after your initial bandwidth is exhausted, your service remains active, and the cost of additional traffic is transparently deducted from your account balance.

  • How can I view real-time usage?
In your Caasify user panel, under the bandwidth monitoring section, you can see detailed real-time usage broken down by minute, day, and month.

  • Is it possible to purchase extra bandwidth?
Yes. You can buy additional bandwidth or upgrade your plan at any time.
